The sequel to the fan-favorite movie has finally been confirmed! For several months now, Happy Gilmore was said to be in the works. Even golf influencer Paige Spiranac was linked to it by the golf world. When she came across the rumors, Spiranac stated that she was “Born ready” to be part of the classic film’s follow-up in a series of Instagram photos. While there were no official resolutions made to those rumors, the Happy Gilmore rumors are now true.

28 years after the classic 1996 Tour Championship victory, the iconic movie star and golf hero has been finally spotted on the sets of the movie. On September 9, Netflix took to their official social media accounts and shared the happy news, “Happy Gilmore 2 is officially in production.” Although, no release date has been confirmed yet. Well, fans have spotted him not just once but several times.

A golf fan page, Zire Golf recently took to their official Instagram page a few hours ago and shared one such video on their wall. In the video, Adam Sandler was seen coming out of the famous house of the Happy Gilmore set. While an excited fan stood outside. In the video, they wrote, “pov: you open your front door one Monday morning and walk onto a film set. Adam Sandler’s there.” It was Ariana Hailand’s TikTok post.

The golf world has been eagerly awaiting the sequel to the American sports comedy movie, and now that they’ve finally seen a video surface online, fans are ecstatic.

Adam Sandler has been part of many sports movies, such as The Waterboy in 1998. He has also provided voiceovers for animated movies, including the fan-favorite Hotel Transylvania. While he is often tagged as a ‘misunderstood genius’ at the box office, Sandler has a loyal fanbase that supports him.

The 58-year-old award-winning actor once revealed that he takes on projects not to please critics but for his audience and the relevance of the plot. Reflecting this sentiment, one fan expressed their love for him, writing, “Rare celebrity I’d enjoy hanging out with”.

Happy Gilmore was a huge commercial success, ranking second at the U.S. box office on its debut weekend. It grossed a whopping $41.2 million worldwide. After such a hit directed by Dennis Dugan, some fans are nervous that, like other sequels, this one might turn out to be a disappointment.

The Happy Gilmore sequel carries a lot of expectations, and fans are only hoping that their hopes are met. One fan commented, “Man I hope they don’t shank this one. The first was a masterpiece 😂”. Another simply wrote, “Please don’t ruin this one”.

In the video, Adam Sandler is seen wearing a casual robe wrapped around a simple pajama and t-shirt. People have started associating him so much with the film that they now see a very thin line between the character and Sandler. As they saw him walk out of the set, one fan commented, “Can’t tell if that’s his costume or everyday apparel”.

It has been almost three decades since the classic film, yet Adam Sandler’s performance and the entire plot are still beloved by the audience. A testament to this is when one fan quoted a famous line from the Happy Gilmore character: “How bout I just go eat some hay. I can make things out of clay or lay by the bay. Whaddya say.”
