The LIV golf event is currently taking place in Chicago, and the editorial director for the LIV golf league has tweeted about some interesting developments regarding Phil Mickelson.

He quickly noticed a change in the person carrying Phil Mickelson’s golf bag for this event. Normally, it’s his brother, Tim, who serves as his caddie, but this week, Tim is absent, and the role is being filled by Phil’s coach, Andrew Getson.

Andrew Getson is also Mickelson’s swing coach. In addition to the change in the caddie, there have been significant equipment changes with respect to equipment in Mickelson’s golf bag aimed at improving his performance.

The three-time Masters winner has switched to a Callaway Paradym Driver and a Scotty Cameron P-3 putter, indicating his focus on improving his drives and putting. Recently, Phil Mickelson also provided an opportunity for a junior golfer to carry his bag.

The promise was made by Phil in 2017 to a young golfer called Riley. Mickelson, known for his friendly demeanor, sought advice from Riley on how to play a challenging hole. Impressed by Riley’s advice, Mickelson had told him, “Riley, You can caddie for me anytime.”

True to his word, Mickelson had Riley caddie for him in the Dell Technologies Championship Pro-Am, creating a special moment filled with mentorship and camaraderie. This heartwarming story also highlights the transition in Mickelson’s caddie lineup.
