A 44-year-old pro sees a bright future for golf—who's got it right, him or Tiger Woods?

Tiger Woods says he definitely will be back with a bang! After his accident in 2021, he only played in eleven tournaments because of his long list of injuries which limited his ability to take physical strain. The former No. 1 golfer has missed cuts at the PGA Championship, at the US Open, and this weekend at the Open Championship as well.

He started the Thursday round with two even par, followed by a birdie. Alas, that was pretty much the only good run, except for a birdie on the thirteenth hole. Woods carded a total of eleven bogeys and three double bogeys in the first two rounds. “I just need to keep progressing like that and then eventually start playing more competitively and start getting into kind of the competitive flow again,” said Mr. T. As hopeful as he is, it pretty much looks like the 44-year-old YO Pro golfer has the same level of confidence.

The second round of the Open Championship at the Royal Troon concluded a few hours ago. Along with the 82-time PGA Tour winner, eminent players like Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau missed the cut. Taylor Zarzour sat down for his show on The Open Radio on SiriusXM. And his guest? The golfer from Zimbabwe is Brendon de Jonge. As they carried out their discussion, Zarzour asked Jonge about his thoughts on Woods’s health conditions.

He first spoke about Wood’s recent performance and how he shot a 79-77 in the first two rounds at Royal Troon. Mr.T was at a 14-over and 21 strokes behind the leader, Shane Lowry. Further, Zarzour stated, “But Tiger did say that his health is improving which makes him believe he should be able to play more golf next year.”

Jonge weighed in his thoughts about the situation. Tiger Woods has time and again said that he will come back with a bang. And as he appeared in Scotland this weekend, he did indeed appear to be in better shape. Having faith in him, the 44-year-old pro said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in double digit tournaments next year. Maybe 10 maybe 12 events. I think he’s feeling strong enough right now, help with the, the health and his right leg that uh we’re gonna see a ton more of Tiger Woods next year.”

The 15-time major winner had already revealed that the fourth major of the season would also mark his final professional appearance for the 2024 season. Following the conclusion of the Friday round, as per Will Gary, who is the PGA Tour’s Golfbet, Tiger Woods will be taking a few months off, in the hopes of getting back for the Hero World Challenge in December.

However, Tiger Woods also shared his excitement to play at the PNC Championship with his son, whom he has partnered with in all past four editions. “I’m going to just keep getting physically better and keep working on it. Hopefully just come back for our fifth major, the Father-Son, so looking forward to it,” said Tiger Woods.
