Ask any LIV golfer how he feels about his transition to the Saudi-backed league, and they would immediately smile. And then they will tell you how pampered they are at the PIF-funded golf league. With generous pay, an accommodating schedule, and an exciting team-play format, LIV Golf has enticed its players unimaginably well.

However, this transition did not come without a price. LIV golfers have faced uncertainties and concerns because of their move. The Ryder Cup selection process was one example of the negative impacts on LIV players. Considering all this, Phil Mickelson recently had to answer a question about the possibility of additional players moving into LIV in the upcoming season. What are his thoughts regarding another exodus of defection?

Phil Mickelson recently addressed a press conference hours ahead of the final showdown of the current LIV season, where he answered on the possibility of more players joining them from the PGA Tour. “Do I think that? No. I know that’s going to happen.”

This was his first response when he received a question about the possibility of another wave of golfers joining LIV golf in the coming year. He said players look at LIV and wish to be a part of it.

As he had done earlier, like other prominent LIV golfers, ‘Lefty’ spoke highly of life at LIV. He reiterated the importance of the team aspect and player camaraderie. However, he seemed concerned about one aspect though.

“The question is, you know, how many spots are available,” Mickelson explained. “There’s a lot more players that want to come than there are spots.” The way he put together his response made it sound like there are already requests coming in from Tour pros to join the new entity in the golf world.

Phil Mickelson has been vocal in voicing his support for and faith in LIV Golf. The 53-year-old has endorsed positive opinions on the entity shared by others, too. Here is an example of how Mickelson promptly recognizes positive LIV opinions and seconds those as well.

Mickelson’s thoughts on (not) returning to the PGA Tour

Phil Mickelson, earlier this year, answered a question about his return to the PGA Tour. The tour had announced certain terms for those who wished to join them again. The whole deal was a colossal waste of time according to the 45-time PGA Tour champion.

He was not alone in this perspective, though. Popular names like Sergio Garcia and Bryson DeChambeau also shared a similar stand on this, among others.
