The PGA Tour and LIV Golf merger talks are heating up, but the rivalry isn’t slowing down. LIV’s move? The Adelaide event, which fans can’t get enough of .Even though both leagues have done their part to offer the best, new claims about the league are what catches the attention. Earlier, LIV Golf, the new CEO, claimed to be the best place to offer a golfing experience in the world.
During an interview after the Adelaide event, Scott O’Neil said, “Outside of the majors, if you want to see the best players in the world, there’s only one place to see it, and that’s at LIV.” Additionally, the massive fan gathering at the event is another add-on to it. Talking about which, The newly partnered YouTuber stirred things up by comparing the event to the Majors. Recently Australian Golf Digest shared an interview with Rick Shiels. The YouTuber was asked about the marquee event of the LIV schedule and what he has been bracing for.
Shiels shared his experience of attending multiple golf events, including 15 Open Championships, the Masters, and European Tour events. However, the JCB event of 2024 stuck with him, and further talking about the event, he said, “I was at the party hall and it was incredible. As a golfing experience, it was incredible.”

According to him, the JCB event was the best of them all, as he shared, “Nothing compared to it, it was electrifying.” As the experience faded, it started dropping on his favorites list. He voiced out for LIV Adelaide then, “I know that Adelaide is that time 10.” The analyst spoke on how the event was a total game-changer for the league He also shared how locals and greenkeepers raved about the event, glorifying the electric vibes in Adelaide.

Also added the top names saying, “This is an unbelievable wealth of incredibly talented golfers here in Adelaide.” His list of names included Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, and Bryson DeChambeau. Well, LIV Golf’s Adelaide event is blowing up, giving the PGA Tour some real competition.
LIV Golf Adelaide, the biggest event on the schedule
The 2025 season started with Riyadh pulling in just 12,000 viewers. Yikes! But if there’s one event everyone’s counting on for a comeback, it’s Adelaide, and it’s already living up to the hype. The viewership has observed an 80 times upside. Also, the event witnessed 100,000 fans at the Grange Golf Club over three days. Notably, even before the event teed off, 90,000 tickets were sold, which is huge.

Well, the event has been delivering as per the expectations of the league since the beginning. Back in 2023, 45% of LIV Golf’s revenue share came from the Adelaide event. Even the event that year pumped the economy of South Australia with $65 million with 77,000 fans in attendance from across the country.
Next, in 2024, the number rose to a $71 million boost to the economy. Now with the record-breaking presence of fans in 2025. It is definitely going upwards.
