While holding the ranking of #4 at the WR4GD, Juan Postigo Arce comes with two G4D titles. Originating from the same region of Northern Spain as Seve Ballesteros, Arce’s life has been marked by adversity since childhood. Born without much of his right leg and lacking a knee, the Spaniard has defied the odds to achieve high rankings and secure two titles.

In doing so, Arce not only clinched the title in the G4D but also achieved the remarkable feat of being a three-time consecutive winner of the EDGA’s European Championship. With his talent and unwavering determination, the 28-year-old continues to play a significant role in the realm of Golf for the Disabled.
A compelling tale from a former soldier
Juan Postigo Arce isn’t the only one who has epitomized determination and inspiration; Mike Browne appears to be doing the same. The former soldier, now 46 years old, faced an unfortunate turn almost a decade ago when his left leg was amputated from the knee down due to an infection that resulted from a training accident.

Nevertheless, the Englishman persisted and embarked on his golf journey in 2014. By 2016, Browne had transitioned into a professional player and achieved his first victory at G4D’s inaugural season in Ireland in 2022. Subsequently, he secured his second victory at Jumeirah Golf Estates in 2023. Keeping these accomplishments in the world of G4D, the pro currently holds the #7 spot in WR4GD rankings and has earned two G4D titles.
The golfer with a unique disability condition
Brendan Lawlor ranked #2 in the WR4GD, is one of the most renowned golfers globally in the world of G4D. With a rare condition known as Ellis-van Creveld syndrome, Lawlor experiences a shorter stature and limbs, which can pose challenges in making plays on the greens. However, the Irishman has overcome his shortcomings and started playing golf in 2017.

In 2019, Lawlor turned professional. He achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first player with a disability to compete on the DP World Tour at the ISPS HANDA UK Championship in August 2020. Despite Lawlor’s success in winning multiple EDGA titles, he has yet to secure a victory as a professional, only managing to finish second and third in his two starts on the G4D Tour so far this season.
These professional golfers, with their unique disability conditions, are now prepared to compete at the 2024 CJ CUP Byron Nelson, offering golf enthusiasts a glimpse into their inspiring stories.
