Nelly Korda, LPGA Tour’s cover girl’s professional luck on the greens this year has been a hard nut to crack. The 2023 season marks the golfer’s first winless LPGA Tour year since her debut. The player has taken part in 18 LPGA tourneys this year—making a cut in 16 of them, winning none, and so expectedly, things on the pro greens haven’t been looking so great. 

Amid this tussle, a tribute has brought happiness to Korda’s face. In the recent series of off-teeing events, a special someone has sent in a tribute to Korda. Recouping from hard times, the message has brought a bright smile to Korda’s face. Who could this thoughtful sender be?

Nelly Korda’s performance post-injury has definitely landed her in the top 10, but the crown of the leaderboard has been a hard miss this year. The biggest LPGA Tour event that the player took part in this year was the Solheim Cup. Immediately after Team USA’s defeat, Korda took a three-week hiatus from the pro golfing realm without prior notice. 

During her time off the swinging greens, fans saw Korda doing volunteering work, and soon after the player re-surged into the public eye. Post her break, Korda participated in a number of events—BMW Ladies Championship, Maybank Championship, Annika driven by Gainbridge in Pelican—and secured herself a top 6 spot in all. 

The limelight came back on the golfer at the CME Group Tour Championship last weekend. Irrespective of the end results, Korda made all heads in her home ground turn after shooting an ace. The hole-in-one was the biggest highlight of Korda’s career this year. As Korda settles with this feat, a new event has brought a smile to her face. 

In a recent series of events, a professional photographer posted some pictures from the greens featuring Korda. In the clicks, the golfer is seen standing with her equipment sack on the course, posing for the picture. The caption reads: “@nellykorda is a true artist,” referring to the autograph that adorns the photograph. Korda has reposted this story on her personal IG with a laughing and heart emoji. 

Even if this season of the LPGA Tour has come to an end, there still are chances for Korda to secure a win for herself. The player will take the greens in December for the last time this year.

Nelly Korda will be seen in action in the upcoming weeks. To kick start her Christmas season, the player will be seen taking the greens at the Grant Thornton Invitational with her PGA Tour counterpart, Tony Finau. The two will be playing as a pair against 16 other teams—some of which are made of winning players of this season.
