The LPGA Tour saw a lot of talented golfers grace the course in 2023. Topping the list of players is none other than Lilia Vu. The American professional was able to outshine many of her peers with her skills and clinch her most successful year as of yet after turning pro in 2019. And her remarkable results led her to win her first LPGA Player of the Year Award, beating the likes of Celine Boutier.

The LPGA Pro saw herself garnering a lot of accolades through her exquisite gameplay and display of skills. As fortunate as she was on the greens, the athlete was also able to earn a lot from her victories throughout the year. The 26-year-old experienced a very successful year in 2023. She managed to finish a total of seven times inside the top 10 out of the twenty starts on the Women’s circuit. Moreover, the golfer clinched the title of champion four times, including the two majors of the season. The pro’s performance did warrant such a result as she was also able to take home a big chunk of the prize pool at each of the tournaments.

She started off the year with a bang at the Honda LPGA Thailand topping the leaderboard with a score of 266(-22) while receiving a cut of $255,000 from the prize purse. However, Lady Luck did not follow the professional for the next three tourneys as she could only finish at T14 and T7, T11 at the HSBC Women’s World Championship, LPGA Drive On Championship at Superstition Mountain, and the DIO Implant LA Open earning a total of $93,878 from the three events.

However, the American followed it with an amazing performance at The Chevron Championship, registering a score of 10-under 278 all the while winning $765,000 as the top player. And, she did not stop her major triumph there as the pro went ahead to claim the first spot at the AIG Women’s Open with numbers 274(-14) and $1,350,000 totaling her major winnings to $2,115,000.

But, what should be noted is that in between the two major victories, the 26-year-old had somewhat of a dry spell. Vu missed the weekend cut at a total of four events, including the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro, Cognizant Founders Cup, and the rest of the majors, namely the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, and the U.S. Women’s Open.
