The highly anticipated 2023 PGA Championship is just around the corner, as the world’s top golfers gather in New York for this prestigious event. In an announcement made by the PGA of America, it was made clear that “any player” qualifying through exemptions will be eligible to compete in the PGA Championship. This includes past winners of the tournament, such as Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, and Martin Kaymer, who have recently joined the LIV Golf league.

The exemptions also extend to winners of other major championships from the past five years and winners of the Players Championship from the past three years. Moreover, Mito Pereira and Brendan Steele, who finished in the top 10 at last year’s championship, have secured their spots.

Patrick Reed, the winner of the 2018 Masters, is eligible for participation in the PGA Championship due to his victory at Augusta National five years ago.
