Lexi Thompson is on the fray at the Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. The player has had a tough patch this year due to her injury-related issues. After playing in the Shriners Children’s Open and missing the cut by 2 strokes, the player took a break from the greens. Following the hiatus, Thompson is now returning to the Floridan greens for the penultimate game of this season’s LPGA golf.

Prior to the upcoming stroke play, golf fans are worried about the player’s condition post her injury. So this seems a good time to bring back Thompson’s health-related queries that she discussed with the golfing legend Tiger Woods years back. Here’s the advice Woods gave Thompson, something you also can implement in your everyday diet.

Back in 2020, Lexi Thompson admitted in an interview that she faced a challenge on the golf course. The issue surfaced when she noticed her hands shaking late in her rounds. Unsure of what to do, she had turned to golf legend Tiger Woods for some related advice. Woods had given some tips to the golfer. These included adding peanut butter and banana sandwiches on wheat bread to her on-course diet.

Woods himself has had an uphill battle with his health in the past few years. After his car accident, the golfer has had some issues with his fused ankle. Post his surgery, he has been experiencing pain in the surrounding areas. The player has been in the pro golfing realm for a really long time. So Thompson approaching the legend for health and energy sustainment-related tips made complete sense.

Following Woods’ recommendation, Thompson incorporated these sandwiches into her rounds, eating half of one every three holes to maintain her energy levels consistently. Woods had also advised her to eat before the round started, and so the player added that to her routine as well. After following these nutritional guidelines, Thompson admitted that her in-round hand shakiness improved significantly.

This advice still serves as a valuable lesson for golfers, who might be experiencing low energy late in their rounds. Now, while Thompson prepares for this season, along with the advice from Woods, the player might also be seen having some extra cards up her sleeve, considering that the game holds a much larger importance to her this time around.

Thompson recently shared with her fans an update about her tailbone injury that she sustained from a fall. The golfer shared the MRI results which emerged as a disheartening sight. The results showed swelling, inflammation, and tendinitis in her hand, along with a cortical irregularity in her tailbone. This injury comes as a challenge for Thompson because it has already disrupted her 13-year streak at the LPGA Tour.

Irrespective of her recent strong performances, Thompson’s poor start to the season has left her lagging at the 88th position on the Race to CME Globe leaderboard. To qualify for the CME Group Tour Championship, she would need a top-three finish in the Annika Driven by Gainbridge tourney, a feat she has accomplished every year since 2010.
