Donald Trump’s enthusiasm for golf is an anomaly that baffles one too many. He has swung his club a few times for the camera and has put up scorecards online for his fans. However, his actual interest in playing golf is a mystery. Is it primarily for promoting investment in the business behind the sport?

On that front, though, he has been facing disappointments of late. A legal dispute over one of his golf resorts recently resulted in transferring his title over to the federal government. Trump’s appearance at a LIV event is not unprecedented. Last year, the former president played in the pro-am at Bedminster. He reportedly offered insights about the course to the players as well.

Coming to the upcoming Miami event, will he be playing in the pro-am at the event? There is a pro-am feature listed on the event’s official website. And this marks a special occasion too. LIV Miami is the final event in the current season of LIV golf. But that is not all.

Despite the former POTUS having strong ties with the Saudi-backed league, the upcoming season’s schedule is a shock for him. Reportedly, the final draft of the 2024 LIV schedule doesn’t have any event happening at a golf course owned by Donald Trump.

The PGA Tour already refrains from hosting events at Trump-owned courses. This resulted from legal disputes the former president was facing during the Capitol attack in 2021. Post this controversy, PGA Tour events have been ignoring Trump and his golf courses.

The golf enthusiast’s affection for LIV Golf was evident right from its inception. Trump has been a vocal supporter of the golf league, and he called a merger between the entities ‘inevitable.’

However, now the twists in the golf scene are getting sharper and it doesn’t appear that LIV has Trump’s back completely either. That didn’t stop him from giving his best for the LIV Miami event, though.
