Injuring their wrists or legs has become a common sight in the golf fraternity. Sometimes, a wrong shot or too much practice can cause a strain on the golfer’s wrist or leg and lead to a lot more problems. There have been many instances in the past when golfers have even withdrawn from events and major tournaments because of their injuries. Indeed it is true that the road to recovery is always a steady one.

Recently, a PGA Tour pro shared his painful journey and various advice he get for recovering from a wrist injury in the middle of a $9 million event, the RBC Canadian Open.

The RBC Canadian Open just concluded, and it had some amazing moments. Nick Taylor emerged victorious after his historic shot, and Adam Hadwin was mistaken for a rulebreaker and then pinned to the ground by a security guard.

There was one more golfer who caught everyone’s attention during this event, and it was none other than Taiwanese golf star CT Pan. The golfer was in the lead on Saturday before the event’s final round on Sunday and led the star-studded pack of golfers. He also tied in at T3 on Sunday and won $477,000 out of the $9 million purse. The golfer has been marching through a painful wrist injury that has really held him back. He opened up about his path to recovery and shared the advice that people around him gave him in order to recover quickly.

In his interview with Golf on CBS, the Taiwanese golfer shared that his therapist has just asked him to follow one piece of advice: “Don’t hit it in the rough.” The golfer shared that not only his therapist but also his caddie had advised him the same thing. After receiving the simplest advice from his loved ones, Pan only says one thing: it is difficult to not hit it in the rough since the fairways are so narrow.

After sharing the advice he gets from people, he also discussed how things are different for him when he is injured.

The 31-year-old golfer said his routine before and after the tournament is pretty different, and it mostly depends on his health. He shared how his practice becomes more quality-oriented when he is injured. The PGA Tour pro said that if he is injured, he practices less, and his main focus during those times is to pay attention to the qualification of each shot and the whole practice.
