Tiger Woods is all pumped up for the World Wide Technology (WWT) Championship. For the first time, a PGA Tour will be played on the course designed by the legendary golfer. Woods will feel all the goosebumps that a student in the examination hall goes through during their first exam. But will he be present on the course on November 2, when the tournament tees off?

Since the PGA Tour announced its decision to host the WWT Championship in El Cardonal, there were rumors that the veteran golfer might tee up against rising stars like Ludvig Aberg, Saheeth Theegala, and others. Now, a sighting of the 82-time PGA Tour winner on the course has added wind to the speculations.

Everyone holds their creation close to their heart. For a 15-time Major winner and Hall of Fame golfer like Tiger Woods, it’s not different. To top that, El Cadonal is the first golf course designed by Tiger Woods.

Ahead of the WWT Championship, Woods was spotted surveying the course. From his enthusiasm, it seems fans might be lucky enough to spot the former world No. 1 around the course. But there is no chance that the veteran golfer will tee it up at the $8.2 million event. Nevertheless, the California native came down to Mexico to check on the final preparations.

The PGA Tour shared a clip on the X (formerly Twitter) handle where the legendary golfer was seen surveying the course on a golf cart. Woods was conversing with the course management team. Later, he was caught leaving the course in his car. To add to the fans’ woe, the veteran golfer was still slightly limping.

While Woods, the architect, makes his PGA Tour debut, fans are eagerly waiting for the golfer to turn up on the course in his usual avatar. It’s almost the end of the year and the 2023 season for the PGA Tour, but, for fans, there is still hope that the 4-year-old golfer might make a comeback before the turn of the year.

When will Woods return to the greens?

To be clear, there has been no official confirmation of Tiger Woods’ return to the greens. However, two things have raised the hopes of fans. Firstly, last month TaylorMade Golf posted a clip of Woods practicing his wedges. He appeared to be healthy and gearing up for a potentially sooner-than-expected return.

Secondly, Woods has also announced the field for the Hero World Challenge 2023. While announcing the field, the last spot was kept open. Fans and analysts suspect that Tiger Woods, the host of the event, can take up that spot and finally make his much-anticipated comeback at the event.

Although the veteran golfer is a long way from emulating the glorious days of the 2000s, the PGA Tour’s preference for his course is a significant milestone in his TGR portfolio. With other courses designed by Woods on the line, a favorable outcome here will open up newer collaboration opportunities between the two.
