The Ryder Cup’s top points earner Garcia had declined to settle a £100,000 fine for joining the LIV Golf Series and had surrendered his tour card. He later sought to re-enter the tour, eyeing a spot in the Ryder Cup.
European captain Luke Donald wasn’t involved in these talks and hadn’t contemplated Sergio Garcia for the Ryder Cup at all. Garcia revealed that he had a talk with Captain Luke Donald a few weeks ago stating that he is a good friend of his, and he wanted him to be sincere and tell him the truth as regards his Ryder Cup chances. He added,”He pretty much told me I had no chance.”
Recently on social media, Angela Garcia, Sergio Garcia’s wife, shared a video where she passed on the best tip she had learned from her husband. She says: “Just as easy as it sounds, ‘gesture swing’ like I think people too many times in golf think too much about the mechanics of the swing.”

She further adds, “Instead of just letting it be athletic, and just swinging. Like I am an athlete and so that’s how I tried a swing.” She captioned the post: “Never a dull moment with you.” In the video, Sergio, in a polo T-shirt and shorts, can be seen practicing in the background. Setting aside the Ryder Cup disappointment, he is enjoying the game with his family.
