The fourth major of the 2023 Women’s golf season is halfway done, and it has been an absolutely thrilling experience to watch. Some of the best female golfers such as Brooke Henderson, Celine Boutier, Nelly Korda, and so on, are going head to head with each other in order to be crowned as the winner of the LET’s first major. But there is one golfer who has been performing exceptionally well, and all the eyes are set on her!
It is none other than the defending champion of the Amundi Evian Championship, Brooke Henderson. The golfer is looking to capture an exceptional score on the course while matching a record in the history of the women’s major.

Henderson is one of the finest golfers on the tour. She returned to Evian Golf Club, situated amid the beautiful Alps to defend her 2022 major title. And her journey to do so in the past 2 days has been nothing less than stunning.
The third round of the tournament has begun, and the Canadian golfer started the day with an absolute bang. As she played the first nine holes, she equated her score with the lowest-ever nine-hole score in women’s major history. After the first 9 tees, she had put a low score of 29 on the scoreboard.

If she continues with her game and form, she might just join the club of most elite golfers. How? Well, she might just put a number under 60 on the board with nine holes remaining, and make everyone immensely proud. Not a lot of golfers have put out this score on the wall, and the feeling of doing so has to be exceptional.
If the 25-year-old hailing from Canada does so, she will not only become one of the greatest golfers but also write another fierce record to her name.

If the Canadian golfer is successful in defending her title, she will become the only golfer in history to defend the Amundi Evian Championship title after it became a major. It was a surreal yet emotional moment for the golfer to give her trophy back to the authorities.
Only Laura Davies won the event two times in 1995 and 1996, but the tournament wasn’t awarded the status of a major tournament then. Many other golfers have won the tournament more than once, but they always had at least a one-year gap between the victories.
