Winning a golf game even with buddies is a memory hard to forget. But winning one at a professional tournament? It’s a rush that is hard to beat. Even more so when it is the first career win.
The LPGA has witnessed quite a few new golfers claim their professional maiden wins this season, including Rose Zhang, and Allisen Corpuz who faced tremendous competition and rose above it all. Now there is a new kid on the block with an ambition of her own.

Alexa Pano joined the LPGA Tour circuit for the 2022-23 season after completing Q-school with flair. The 19-year-old golfer has played in a dozen events so far and astoundingly claimed victory at the ISPS Handa World Invitational on Sunday.
The tri-sanctioned event had very high expectations and faced terrible weather. But the rising star overcame it all at a tender age to clinch her maiden win along with a massive sum of $225,000 in Northern Ireland.
Following the accomplishment, Pano spoke to reporters at Galgorm Castle saying the victory “just hasn’t fully sunk in”. She also admitted that having completed Q-school merely a year ago, it is something she dreamt of but didn’t quite expect yet. “This was definitely a massive goal for me, so to achieve that is really special,” the young golfer said.
Now that she has met her primary goal, the American LPGA Tour pro is excited for another. The 19-year-old is hoping to gain a little momentum and set new goals for the remainder of the season. “I really would like to do this again some time,” she added earnestly. Winning against the stormy weather is rather motivating.
This victory does come with its perks on the LPGA Tour but winning is not a big surprise for Pano. She has proved her competitive streak too many times on the Amateur circuit.

The young American golfer may have missed the cut in half the events on the professional circuit but in the Amateur world she had quite the reputation. Before turning pro in April 2022, Pano became the youngest player at a Junior LPGA event at age 11. She was also the youngest participant at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in its inaugural year.
Aside from being one of the youngest golfers everywhere, Pano also became the first-ever finalist on a national level to compete in the Drive, Chip, Putt competition. She even made an appearance in the Netflix original called ‘The Short Game.’
