Social media is one of the most important tools for celebrities to connect with their fans. Golf is not limited to the course anymore. Many golfers are now actively sharing their routines and games with their fans. Nowadays, many amateur golfers may easily find helpful golfing advice on social media.

But there is always another side to everything. Everything is not hunky-dory on the internet. Many times, social media has caused problems for many. In the latest incident, this LPGA star has experienced something quite horrific. Let’s dive into the story.  

Big “fake accounts” problem for the 30-year-old golfer

Danielle Kang is one of the most prominent players on the LPGA circuit. At the age of just 14, she began her voyage on the renowned circuit. She has six professional wins under her belt to date, including the 2017 Women’s PGA Championship.
However, Kang is having a tough time on the course. At both the US Women’s Open and the Amundi Evian Championship, she failed to make the cut. In the most recent Portland Classic, she finished in fourteenth place. And to add insult to injury, she is experiencing even graver issues off the course.

Recently, Kang posted a story on her Instagram, warning everyone of the fake accounts in her name and how they have been texting other people. She posted such a conversation and wrote: ”This is getting creepy. Really creepy. Using AIs? Or photoshop? What is going on?… I have never had another account and or a fan page. Please don’t ever fall for this. Also, I will never make a fan page and or DM anyone from a ”personal” account.”

Kang now has made it clear in her bio that she only uses one account and that any messages received from other accounts are likely from fake accounts. This is not the only problem she has faced in recent times. There is more!

Problem of missing baggage before a major!

Golfers bring their expensive equipment with them when they go to other venues to compete. But what happens if you misplace your luggage? This is exactly what happened with Kang.

While traveling to France for the Evian Championship, she lost her baggage. She posted a tweet, Dear @British_Airways Please help locate my bag. Bag tag BA602969 from CDG to LHR. it took us 2.5hrs to even make a claim… and no one seems to know where it is. It’s filed missing. Not delayed, missing..”
