The LPGA tour has several examples of blossoming female friendships that go on for a lifetime. This sisterly bond can be seen shared between Lydia Ko and Danielle Kang. These golfers of Asian origin have come a long way since their early days and have found a safe harbor in one another.

These two will now be spotted playing at the BMW Ladies Championship at Seowon Hills Country Club in South Korea. The 17-time LPGA Tour winner returns to South Korea this year to defend her championship title as her best friend cheers her on in her quest for success.

In a video posted by Lydia Ko earlier today, she can be seen wearing an all-black outfit teeing up a ball and subsequently taking the ball out from the cup after sinking a put. The video was originally shared by the BMW Korea page and was later reposted by last year’s defending champion on her Instagram. The video also featured a slick sedan BMW driving towards the camera.

The montage video ended with visuals of the crowd cheering on as bottles of champagne were popped and then poured onto Lydia Ko right after she won the event.

Under the video was one comment that caught everyone’s attention. This comment was by Lydia Ko’s best friend Danielle Kang. The comment was simple yet hard-hitting. It read “defending champion.” This event is going to be crucial for Lydia Ko considering the downward trajectory of her performance this year.

Lydia Ko’s recent struggles

Despite these challenges, she remained grateful for her past achievements and hopeful for future progress, emphasizing that golf is a challenging sport.
