Witnessing PGA Tour professionals at the LPGA event is nothing new; there have been many instances where the golfer has shown support for women’s golf. But what has been interesting is how Max Homa, despite his struggles in his professional career, is still showcasing strong support for his fellow female pros at the Chevron Championship. So, Homa’s last win was in 2023, and with the ongoing season, his performance even worsened. He missed five consecutive cuts before the Masters 2025.
Even his failure to perform has led to a tough decision from his long-term caddie and childhood friend, Joe Griener. The duo’s partnership for more than a decade has now come to an end and has left the golfer in a void. Even for the split, Homa shared, “It was not my choice so it sucked.” His appearance as a fan at The Club at Carlton Woods has left the golf world in awe.
Homa also shared some strong messages about the LPGA professionals. In a video shared by GOLF.COM on X, he was recorded sharing about some prominent names in the sport. He shared about Nelly Korda, saying, “I’ve got to play with Nelly before, she is like so well-rounded.” The duo shares a great friendship bond where Homa has been seen praising the golfer on many occasions, and they have even played together on multiple occasions.

For Lexi Thompson, he said, “Lexi is super strong in the way she hits the golf ball, just like the noise and how much hit it has on it, is very unique.” Correctly stated by Homa, as Thompson is among the most accurate and longest hitters of the ball. She has a driving distance average of 272.75 yards with 68.57% accuracy.
Max Homa is out watching the Chevron Championship today. He followed Lexi Thompson for part of her 5-under 67.

Lexi has brought joy to the fans in joy with her fourth appearance as a part-time golfer this season. Even with her statement, she cleared her intention.
Lexi Thompson on her performance as a part-timer
Thompson, who shared that 2024 will be her last season as a full-time professional, left the golf world shocked. Even with the development in her personal life, it seemed like the golfer’s appearance, even as a part-time pro, would be limited. But fortunately, she has managed to participate and showcase her great golfing skills. With her ongoing performance at the Chevron Championship, she was asked about the difference as a full-time and a part-time pro.

Clearing out the speculation on performance, she answered, “When I’m still at home, I’m still practicing and training. I love working out. I’m still striving to be better for when I do tee it up, because every time I tee it up, I still want to win. It’s not like I’m just going out here to show face. I’m still very competitive, and, yeah, but just trying to enjoy the few times I will play.” Dealing with multiple roles in personal and professional life, she has still managed to keep her zeal and competitiveness even after reducing her participation. Her ongoing T10 place after two rounds at the Chevron Championship and her T13 place finish at the Founders Cup demonstrate this result.
