LIV Golf vs PGA Tour has been a long-standing debate. But is the DP World Tour also in the mix? The PGA Tour and the European Tour have worked hand-in-hand for years but there seems to have been an oversight of sorts.
Among the 48 golfers on the Saudi circuit, several top names came from the European Tour. But what does that imply exactly? One European golfer explained the situation, although looking at the whole thing with shame. Let’s see what he said.

Laurie Canter has successfully created an anomaly. The English golfer is currently playing on the LIV Golf circuit as a substitute for Sam Horsfield in Team Majesticks GC. However, a week from now, he will be teeing up at the Galgorm Spa and Golf Resort for the ISPS Handa World Invitational in the DP World circuit.
The reason he can pull this off is that, in light of wanting to broaden his horizons, Canter paid off his outstanding fines to the DP World Tour from last year. As he did not retain his card after dropping from Category 10, he is no longer being fined and is permitted to attend events for which he is eligible.
Now, as Horsfield is due to return, the Englishman’s LIV Golf career is swiftly coming to a halt. This particular situation inspired him to speak out about the feasibility of play. “I think it’s sad that at the moment people can’t draft in and out,” he confessed his feelings about the three tours. “I look at what’s happened as a shame for European golf fans,” he added.

He also has strong opinions about the state of not only the PGA Tour vs LIV Golf but the PGA Tour vs DP World Tour as well.

In the opinion of the English golfer, the DP World Tour doesn’t hold as many highly-competitive events as the PGA Tour. Staying on the American Tour is much more competitive as compared to the European Tour even though DPWT has higher historical significance.
This phenomenon seems to perturb the golfer from Somerset. He said even the fans are not entirely getting what they want to see. “If you want to watch the best players in the world play golf, you can literally go to one or two tournaments a year, back-to-back weeks. You’re never really going to watch the top 10 in the world play golf outside of America,” he said.
His desire is to see a system wherein golfers can switch from tour to tour without any repercussions so all three circuits can receive equal amounts of coverage and fan recognition. He is also hoping that the framework agreement will improve the feasibility for players; that numerous competitive events will be distributed across America and Europe for all three circuits.
