Bryson DeChambeau was only 26 when he acquired the moniker “The Scientist” due to his meticulousness and competitiveness. And he continues to try out new things like earlier this year he switched to a TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus driver.  So far the year has been good for him. He was tied for the fourth place at the PGA Championship and finished tied 20th at the US Open last month. He had a good outing at Valderrama earlier this week too.

The next LIV Golf competition will be held in London from July 7–9. DeChambeau will surely try to claim his first victory at LIV Golf after narrowly missing out at Valderrama, and in a massive boost ahead of the event, his old friend is joining him on his victory-seeking voyage. Days after narrowly missing out on what could have been his maiden LIV Golf victory at the Valderrama by just one stroke, a piece of good news greets him. And the good news is that for the $$25,000,000 tournament in London, DeChambeau will be joined by his former caddie Tim Tucker.

NUCLR Golf, one of the most prominent golf-related accounts on Twitter, posted this on Wednesday: Bryson DeChambeau and former caddie Tim Tucker are reuniting this week at LIV London, per @NoLayingUp. Tucker and DeChambeau split in July 2021 prior to the Rocket Mortgage with Tucker saying his attention was going to be on a Bandon Dunes shuttle service.”

After their split in 2021, Ben Schomin took up the role, after which Greg Bodine was roped in a couple of months ago. According to reports, Bodine is attending to a personal matter this week, which is why Tucker and DeChambeau are back together. Let’s look at the reason behind DeChambeau and Tucker’s split.

The reason behind the split

DeChambeau and Tucker joined hands in 2018. In their partnership, DeChambeau won the 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic and later tied for fourth at the PGA Championship. Their partnership reached its pinnacle when DeChambeau won his first and only major at the US Open in 2020.

However, prior to the Rocket Mortgage Classic in 2021, they made the decision to part ways. According to Golf Week, the reason behind their split was Tucker’s health. Tucker said the tour schedule was taking a toll on him. “We’ve had a very intense relationship where he works a lot of hours. It was a little bit of me not being 100 percent healthy and happy… we made the best decision for the both of us,” he said.

They are only coming together for this event. Following the London competition, Bodine will be back caddying for DeChambeau while Tucker will return to caddie for Kurt Kitayama.
