The eagerly anticipated Ryder Cup is scheduled to begin on September 29. Six of the best players from the Ryder Cup standings will receive automatic qualification berths before the competition even begins. 

While three players have already secured their spots, the fate of the remaining three is still unknown. The final decision regarding their inclusion will be made after the conclusion of the BMW Championship on August 20th. Scottie Scheffler (Already qualified)

Scheffler currently holds the leading position in the rankings with 25,857,735 points. Starting the season with an impressive triumph at the WM Phoenix Open, the six-time PGA Tour winner continued his winning streak with another remarkable victory at the Players Championship. Alongside these wins, the current World Number 1 has accumulated an astonishing 15 top-10 finishes.

Wyndham Clark (Already qualified)

Hot on the heels of Scheffler, Clark pulled off an incredible feat by snagging the highly coveted second position. His exceptional season proved to be the main reason, boasting seven top-10 finishes under his belt. But that’s not all! The 29-year-old golf prodigy stunningly emerged victorious in both the U.S. Open 2023 and the Wells Fargo Championship 2023.

Patrick Cantlay (Already qualified)

Even though Cantlay didn’t win any tournaments this season, he still did really well. His second-place finish in the St. Jude Championship was super important because it got him a spot on the Ryder Cup USA team. This talented 31-year-old golfer will be representing the United States in the competition happening in Rome next month.

Brian Harman 

The 36-year-old golfer, although never having had the chance to participate in the Ryder Cup, is poised to make his debut this time. His long-awaited opportunity could come if he performs decently in the Tour Championship. It should not be overlooked that Harman has had a successful season, achieving eleven top-25 finishes and six top-10 finishes on the Tour. Furthermore, he has demonstrated his capabilities by finishing as a runner-up three times.

Brooks Koepka

As LIV golfers rely exclusively on Majors to accumulate points, the future of the five-time major champion’s spot in the Rome tournament remains uncertain. With a current ranking of 5th, Koepka achieved a T-2 finish at the Masters and a T-17 finish at the U.S. Open.

With two impressive wins and a total of 10 top-10 finishes this season, Max Homa has positioned himself for a potential sixth-place ranking. Fans must also remember his remarkable debut at the 2022 Presidents Cup last year.
