The PGA Tour has been subjected to immense backlash since the merger was signed earlier this year. Even the PGA Tour veterans turned their backs on Jay Monahan and marked him as the main culprit for everything. Even to date, the situation has not improved much and the indifference persists.

Now, amid this upheaval, the PGA Tour, as per a NUCLR GOLF tweet, has got some respite. A $1.59-billion company has joined hands with the American tour. Let’s dive into the story.

Jay Monahan shakes hands with Yasir Al-Rumayyan on launching a new league?

As the merger-related feud barely settled, a piece of news recently surfaced that says a new league is to tee off in 2025. Only the top golf professionals will be invited to play in this league. The league will have 18 tournaments in total.

Sources even suggested that 12 of the total events will take place in the US, and the prize money for each event can reach up to $34 million. Furthermore, the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and LIV Golf will have their own independent management for some time. The name of this new league will be the ‘Elite Global Golf Tour’.
