Rose Zhang isn’t the only amateur in the world of Golf who broke a record and made pro. The nail-biting session during the two days of the US Open this year has left the pros and the audience with many questions in their minds. Bryson DeChambeau, who is known for his far-reaching exploits, has been outdriven by an 18-year-old amateur turned pro golfer after 54 holes at?Los Angeles Country Club.
The LIV golfer?s secret at the time was his ability to take long-distance shots. In fact, he once consumed 3,500 calories in an effort to boost his power. His drastic measures paid off as The Scientist hit a driving distance that averaged 322.1 yards in the 2019-2020 season. Later, he went through a major transformation, losing 20 pounds in a month after learning that he could be taking years off his life. But who is the new kid in town?

And now he has set his sights on conquering the PGA Tour with his skills.
Last year, Aldrich’s dream of going pro did not pan out as he hoped. He was determined this season to make it. With a qualifying score of 70 and 72 at the Los Angeles Country Club, he got off to a great start on his professional golfing career in 2023. But who could be his potential competitor in the future? It may be overwhelming when playing alongside legends such as Rickie Fowler, Jon Rahm, and the most recent ace scorer, Matt Fitzpatrick. However, these amateur golfers are far from afraid. If anything, Potgieter is probably hoping to break a few more records before the end of the season.
