Donald Trump was so impressed by the 47-year-old’s masters win that he decided to honor him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. During the ceremony, Trump expressed that Woods is a legendary player. “A true legend,” he said.
For him, Woods is the true representation of dedication and persistence. “Tiger Woods is a global symbol of American excellence, devotion and drive.”
Moreover, he thinks the golf great is a good human and a great ambassador of golf, “He’s a great guy,” Trump added. “He introduced countless new people to the sport of golf.”
As a businessman, the former President is known for his love of golf. He is often seen on the greens as well. Moreover, Trump has played a few rounds of golf with the legend too. There have been two known sightings, one in 2017 and one in 2019, just three months prior to this ceremony.
The duo even collaborated to build a luxurious golf course in Dubai.

Prior to his win in 2019, the 15-time major winner had battled many personal issues. This included several surgeries and his controversial divorce. It was a hard time for Woods, as all his personal problems were in the public eye, to be scrutinized by anyone and everyone.
But one thing that kept him going was the support of his family and friends. Therefore, upon winning the greatest U.S. civilian honor, he was extremely grateful to his family.
