The 24X PGA Tour winner has suggested that it is in the interest of professional golf for the game to grow into a new world tour spread across all continents. His vision for the world tour is a necessity in uniting and diversifying the game across borders so it can truly actualize its global appeal.

However, according to the star, corporate America’s dominance in every aspect of the sport has become a huge impediment to its growth in other parts of the world. So, to prioritize the growth of the sport in other parts of the world, McIlroy has asserted that America must let it thrive globally.

America is still a huge market for our game, but as America has become such a huge market, it may not let other markets around the world thrive.”

After his resignation from the PGA Tour policy board, the 4X Major Champion has opened his vision to a more globalized nature of the game.
