Reed took up the European Tour Membership in 2015 and has been maintaining it since, and has often expressed his fondness for playing on the tour. In fact, he earned the nickname “Captain America” due to his exploits in three Ryder Cup appearances.
He continued, “The first year of LIV I would have played the minimum — I already played the minimum on the PGA TOUR.” Speaking about his good fortune for playing all three big golf leagues Reed said, “I was that one guy when they said no one can play all three. Well, I did it. Shocker.” Patrick believes that it doesn’t matter if it’s LIV Golf, or the PGA Tour, or the European Tour, if one qualifies for an event then they should be able to play.

Although he says that he would have played the minimum number of PGA Tour events to keep his card, Reed’s statement is not in accordance with his actions.
Last year he ditched the PGA Tour for LIV Golf for a compensation of an amazing $37 million. In the 2022 LIV Golf Invitational Series, he was in the top five, three times. Currently, he is just playing in LIV Golf and DP World Tour. But there’s one thing that he is right about. He is the only player who has played on all three tours.
Reed’s last success at the British Open came back in 2014 when he finished in the 10th rank. After that, he didn’t do so great at the event. This week he will definitely look forward to reclaim that status.
