The sun sets in the west, the water is wet, and Bernhard Langer has won yet another PGA event. The German golf legend has dominated the Senior Tour in recent years and further embedded his legacy with his 45th win in the Tour. However, his win at Chubb Classic isn’t similar to his past feats. Instead, Langer has been accused of cheating by some Twitter users.
The 65-year-old has many records in the PGA Tour Champions. However, he had a similar reputation during his prime playing days, winning the Masters twice, and becoming golf’s first official number-one ranked golfer following the creation of OWGR.
While he is regarded as the greatest German to step foot on a golf course, Langer’s Senior Tour career has received mixed reviews. Though he has the most wins in the Tour, the golfer had to endure many cheating allegations. The latest one ignited at the Chubb Classic, accusing him of anchoring.

PGA Tour legend accused of cheating
Bernhard Langer’s -17 at the Tiburon Golf Course earned his 45th win on the Senior Tour. The victory made him the golfer with the most wins on the PGA Tour Champions alongside Hale Irwin. While many praised the legendary golfer for his incredible feat, one user on Twitter had a different outlook on Langer’s win.
The cheating by @BernhardLanger6 is laughable at this point..rules officials on the @ChampionsTour need to do their job… 14-1b anchor point created by the forearm …this is from today… @NoLayingUp @TronCarterNLU @chambleebrandel @AlanShipnuck @MintzGolf @Daniel_Rapaport pic.twitter.com/hl9K42Zn3J

An account named TrotGolf posted a picture of the two-time Masters winner anchoring his putt at the Chubb Classic. The account tagged all the prominent journalists in golf to make his opinion heard. “The cheating by Bernhard Langer is laughable at this point”, wrote the fan. He added, “Rules officials on the Champions Tour need to do their job”.
The German golfer uses a long putter for his shots. Langer has been using it for a few years for avoiding Yips. However, according to rule 14-1b, the player must not anchor a club either ‘directly’ or by use of an ‘anchor point’. Though using the long putter is not the issue, anchoring the shot is.
The golf world reacts to Tour legend’s accusations
Langer’s snapshot of anchoring received wide attention from golf fans. Some criticized the 65-year-old while others did defend the golfer. Here are the top reactions.
What a total joke, all his "titles" should be stripped

If the forearm wasn’t anchored there would be no creases on the shirt…there is pressure from the left forearm on the left pec…the shirt doesn’t lie

His playing partners need to call him on it too

Of course he’s anchoring. Been saying this for years. It’s a freaking joke.

Langer has been cheating like this for years. It's literally stealing money from the other players.

I love Bernhard but they do need to straighten this out. His left forearm is definitely up against his chest even if the club isn't.

He’s been cheating for years and the officials turn a blind eye. But it’s ok when it’s someone they want to win.
