In just a few days, the 2025 Masters will begin with the hopes of some adrenaline-rush action from the best golfers. Well, the top 50 golfers have confirmed their spots at the Masters, but there are still some top names who will be aiming for close finishes in the last two events to get through the qualification. With many names away from the qualification, the results are the only savior for them. The list includes Rickie Fowler, OWGR 105, who will have to secure a victory for his qualification. Along with him, Jake Knapp, OWGR 85, would need a solo second finish for qualification at the Masters. Similar to the two, Si Woo Kim, Ben Griffin, and Michael Kim have to find a better spot with their participation to seal a place on the Masters’ roster.
However, out of this bunch of names, there is an interesting one as well, Alejandro Tosti. Why, you might ask? Well, unlike the list of names shared above, Tosti got a clear message after his recent performance. As the rest, having a set goal could get them entry in the Masters, but for Tosti, insiders have a clear message to share. Recently, at the Fried Egg Golf podcast, Brendan Porath and Andy Johnson talked about his performance and chances for the Masters. Porath shared how Tosti has made a comeback with his performance at the Houston Open. Sharing thoughts on the same, Johnson said, “Listen, if we could get Tosti at the Masters, it’d be incredible.” The 28-year-old who got his PGA Tour card in 2024 has until now only featured at one major, which is the 2024 PGA Championship. But with his great, humble nature, the panel hopes for him to be at the Masters and cherishes the great moment for the golfer.

Porath also had some advice for Tosti, as he said, “He’d need to mind his P’s and Q’s.” Not just this, but Johnson also joined in, saying, “I think he would know that, he has to be on his best. The only way in is winning.” Tosti, who is a fan of Tom Doak’s work (golf course architect who renovated Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston), has already left a mark with his performance earlier in 2024. He was the runner-up at the event. Even now, in 2025, he has started off in style, recording a 65 in the first round. However, for his qualification for the Masters, the Houston Open and the Valero Texas Open will be crucial. As he is currently ranked at 214 OWGR and to make it through qualification, Tosti will have to seal victory.
Though that’s the prediction for the golfer to get into the Masters. But is he in great form to do so?

Alejandro Tosti’s performance in 2025
The Rosario, Argentina-based golfer, joined the PGA Tour in 2024, after which his significant gesture toward fans and notable skill set have left the world vouching for his Masters appearance. Well, practically, the golfer’s season hasn’t been ideal for expecting two victories before the Masters. But in the game of golf, anything can happen. Recently, Viktor Hovland won at the Valspar Championship after missing the cut at the PLAYERS.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Alejandro Tosti defy the odds and secure his first Masters appearance with a stunning victory?

However, Tosti, out of his eight appearances this year, has failed to make the cut in 5 events. Even though he was T10 at the Mexico Open, his last three events were consecutive MCs. After his T10 finish, he has struggled with subpar scores, which resulted in the decline. Even his ranking, which saw a 15-place jump after the Mexico Open finish, dropped to 24 places with missed cuts.

Despite the decline, the golfer has started strong for his Masters campaign. At the Houston Open, he is currently in the top 10, meaning he has a fair chance of coming clutch to the top of the leaderboard. However, he does need to be wary, as Scottie Scheffler seems to have finally found his form.
Alejandro Tosti will have to continue with low scores for his first Masters appearance and debut victory at the PGA Tour. Can he achieve that? What are your thoughts about it? Share with us in the comments below.
