The weather at TPC Scottsdale is anything but inspiring. But Max Homa is not the one to brood. The PGA Tour Pro’s tee time was pushed back quite late into the evening. The Arizona native was not very pleased but he complained in a very Max Homa-way.

Homa was supposed to tee up at 12.33 p.m. local time (2.33 p.m. ET). At least that was the initial plan. But the weather is going haywire in Arizona now. The Scottsdale native felt what all of us would feel. But unlike many, the 33-year-old knows to laugh things off.

The weather has not dampened Homa’s mood quite yet

Max Homa took to X (formerly Twitter) to crack a joke at the Round 2 tee time. Homa was slated to tee up with Jordan Spieth, and last year’s Open Champion Brian Harman at 5.33 PM local time (7.33 PM EST). The six-time PGA Tour winner quipped, “It will be like showing up to a bar 15 minutes before it closes. Probably won’t have enough time to have a lot of fun, but every interaction with a person will be alarming and hilarious.”

It turns out he was not entirely wrong. The play has been suspended due to darkness at 6.08 p.m. local time. Friday’s round was supposed to start at 7.30 AM MT, as almost half the field had yet to complete the first round at that time. However, a frosty daybreak put cold waters in the tour’s plans for an early morning start. The second day resumed at 9.13 a.m. local time.

Homa, 33, started with a par on the first two holes. The home favorite was 2-over 73 in the first round. Spieth, on the other hand, was tied at 37 after saving par on the first two holes. Whereas, Harman made a birdie on the second. Yesterday’s leader, Sahith Theegala, who disdained the cold and rain, had yet to take a tee shot when the second round was postponed. The projected cut line is at 1-under.

Homa, nevertheless, saw this as a good occasion to hone his sarcasm skills. The Internet’s favorite golfer is notorious for sharing his humorous take on all things relevant. And LIV Golf found itself on the receiving end most recently.

Max Homa takes in on Anthony Kim’s possible return

The Internet has been abuzz with Anthony Kim’s return to pro golf. Max Homa quipped that Kim had two options. “Here’s a behind the scenes scoop of the PGA Tour and LIV negotiating with Anthony Kim to make a comeback: PGA Tour: Plz come play on our Tour, LIV: Plz come play on our Tour and also here is 500 million dollars.”

The $500 million was an oblique reference to the king’s ransom that LIV Golf reportedly paid for Jon Rahm. Although Greg Norman is unlikely to pay the hefty sum for Kim, who last played in a professional tournament more than ten years ago, Homa subtly took a jab at the PIF-funded side for totally skewing the market.
