Akshay Bhatia is one of the new entries of teens to win on the Kon ferry Tour. He is an American professional golfer whose swing is soothing to the eyes. The Indian-origin professional golfer turned professional in the year 2019.

Akshay won his first title at the Kornferry Tour and as a result, became the third teenager to win on the Korn Ferry Tour. He joined the likes of Jason Day as well as Sungjae IM.

The 19-years old golfing sensation won his first title at the Korn Ferry Tour in his first start as a member on the tour. He won the 2022 Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at the Sandals Emerald Bay golf course. The tournament was the season opener for the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour, and Bhatia could not have expected a better start than this.

He won the tournament with an overall score of 14- under par and carded a final round 65, seven under par. Akshay was three shots off the lead heading into the final round. His final round 65 was the best round of the week. Bhatia won prize money worth $135,000 from a total purse of $750,000.

Bhatia had a special person at his bag at the season opener. His girlfriend, Presleigh Schultz, caddied for him this week and the two looked to be a great pair. He said, “I told her like this is my time like this is my time to win.”

He also praised his girl by saying, “I mean, carrying the bag for 72 holes is not easy, especially if it rains or whatever.” He added, “I don’t know what I’m going to tell my caddie, I really don’t because this is obviously working right now.” It looks like he might continue with Schultz as her caddie and it will be really interesting to see the couple for the rest of the season.

What is next at the Kon Ferry Tour?

2022 Korn Ferry Tour season started at the beautiful Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas with the 19 years old Akshay Bhatia emerging as the winner the next stop is The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic, which begins on January 23rd and concludes on the January 26th.
