The Irish professional golfer has placed himself in a well-deserved seventh position after a gritty second round at the East Lake Golf Course. He had delivered an even-par performance on the first day as he trickled down from fourth place to the current spot, but has managed to maintain his position despite his injury. After a courageous performance during the second round, he went ahead to shed some good news as he opened up about his health issues during an interview.
In the press conference that took place a while back, the golfer was asked whether he had any thoughts of not playing at the weekend. The 34-year-old went ahead to reply how he still wanted to give it a go despite being hurt. He mentioned how he hoped things would get better as he said, “I felt like if I could get through yesterday I was just hoping that each day it would get progressively better”.
The PGA Tour pro was satisfied with his performance and his health as he talked about how it got a touch better on Friday in terms of being able to put a little more speed into the swing. “At least I know I’m not doing any damage or I don’t necessarily think that by me playing it’s going to get worse,” said the golfer.
The Irish pro made sure to let his fans know about his better health through the interview as he mentioned how he can get better by doing the right things off the course. Coming into the tournament strong at No.3 on the FedEx rankings, he had revealed his health concerns during the first post-round conference.

‘Rors’ had earlier opened up about how his right side got pretty tight from his rib cage all the way down to the right hip back at home before the event. This led to the golfer suffering a seizure on his right side after which he got better with some physio. But, his condition worsened afterward as he spent some time in the gym before the tournament which led to another seizure while squatting.
The golfer scored a par round on Thursday and, with his allotted lead of seven under, was sharing the seventh position with Matt Fitzpatrick and Jon Rahm. But, he was able to finish the second round with a score of 3-under par 67 thereby increasing his lead to 10 under and maintaining his T7 position.
