The golf world has been on its toes as the FedEx playoffs took place over the last two weeks. The players put up a stunning display of golf as they fought hard to make it to the finale. And in an eye-opening reveal, a recent post on social media has stirred up a rivalry of sorts in the golf community. Compared to previous editions, there are not many Americans in the finale. Moreover, a post that was uploaded on Twitter provided an interesting fact about the same as it showed the number of American and European players that are set to take part in the tournament.

The tweet mentions how the event this year will see a record number of European players compete for the trophy. Meanwhile, the same cannot be said for the US as the championship will see the lowest number of American players to ever take part in the finale of the FedEx Cup. But even so, the advantage just seems so on the surface as there are only 7 European players competing for the crown while America will see 16 golfers take part in the run for the title.

Moreover, the country will see its top players in action such as Scottie Scheffler, who is currently the No. 1 on both the FedEx standings and OWGR, Lucas Glover, Max Homa, Patrick Cantlay, and Brian Harman. In addition to the American players, the golf world will be able to watch Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tyrrell Hatton, and Tommy Fleetwood in action, along with Spaniard Jon Rahm, Norwegian Victor Hovland, and Austrian Sepp Straka.

One can’t help but notice how the effect of the rivalry between the two teams in the prestigious Ryder Cup has extended over to the TOUR Championship. On the other hand, it makes sense since the playoffs are at a stage where there is a lot at stake for players aspiring for the Ryder Cup.
