PGA Tour takes flight: new charter jet service for players and caddies

To make tournament travel more convenient and safe, as reported by Golf.com, the PGA Tour now offers a new option for players and caddies – a charter jet! The Tour strongly encourages them to use this service between each tournament on the PGA Tour. PGA Tour Champions and Korn Ferry Tour will arrange one charter flight leaving on Monday to transport players to the next site. Dylan Frittelli recently shared a story on Instagram of his PGA tour seat in the chartered plane and captioned it, “Tour charter to Charlotte, @wellsfargogolf making travel easy!

Now, here’s the best part: players and caddies can enjoy this service for a fee of $600 per seat and $300 per caddie, respectively. The Tour will also offer refunds in certain cases. Such as, if they cancel tickets 24 hours before the flight, or if a player tests positively for COVID-19 before the flight.

And to ensure everyone’s safety, all passengers must submit a negative test report of the viral within 24 hours before the flight’s departure. Once onboard, they’ll also be given personal protection equipment and must follow the charter operator’s health and safety measures.

While the charter flights won’t necessarily fit every player and caddie’s schedule. But it’d still be a great option for those who prefer to travel by air. The PGA Tour anticipates that many caddies and players will opt to drive instead. However, this service is definitely worth considering for those who want a quick and easy way to get to their next destination. Players can also utilize their NetJets hours, and commercial air travel is also an option.

All eyes on Quail hollow for Wells Fargo championship 2023

The tournament will take place at the esteemed Quail Hollow Country Club. This parkland course has been a PGA Tour staple for over five decades. This year’s event will be the ninth on the PGA Tour calendar to offer an ‘elevated’ prize pot.

The course is famous for its challenging tree-lined layout. It features water hazards on six holes, making it a true test of a golfer’s skill and precision. Only a few days ago, and some of the biggest names in the sport will be looking to sharpen their games and get in peak form.

Rory McIlroy, a three-time winner at Quail Hollow, will be looking to add another title to his collection. While Viktor Hovland will also be in good shape for a title challenge. The course has undergone renovations by renowned architect Tom Fazio. With an upgrade of all 18 putting surfaces from Bentgrass to Bermuda, it promises to be an exciting and unpredictable tournament.
