Charlie Woods has finally done it to meet all the expectations put up on him! The 15-year-old golfer started the 2024 season with pretty ordinary performances. He could not qualify for his first PGA Tour event, the Cognizant Classic, nor did he qualify for the US Open or win the US Amateur like his father, Tiger Woods, did. There were certainly many questions floating around his golf future, but Woods. Jr has finally redeemed himself.
Moreover, the junior golfer assisted Benjamin High School, where he is a sophomore, from finishing at the bottom to becoming a runner-up. The 15-year-old posted a two-day score of 7 over 151 as he carded six bogeys and five birdies, the last one coming at the 18th hole in the final round, as reported by Palm Beach Post. The defending champions, Bucs were tied for 9th on the leaderboard after the first day but Woods’s improved play in the final round pushed them to finish second to Oxbridge Academy at the Class 1A Florida high school state championship on Mission Resort Inn + Club in Howey-in-the-Hills.
Impressed with his game, Benjamin High School’s golf head coach Toby Harbeck said, “Much better. He gets on a roll, he can make three, four, five in a row. There are some holes out here that you cannot birdie. As aggressive as he is, it paid off. He played well today, very well today.” Undoubtedly, to have his coach praise his form after a disappointing season would have made Charlie and Tiger Woods content and shut out all the critical voices, doubting his golf future.

Another time when Charlie Woods proved his worth
Significantly, the US Junior Amateur wound was still fresh. The junior golfer had shot 22 over in the two rounds and missed the cut for the finals at the event his father won 3 years in a row. The criticism was huge and would only get bigger if not for the 15-year-old’s victory at the South Florida Junior PGA Cup. Only a few days after the USGA heartbreak, Woods was finally on track for better days.

I wanted to prove to myself that I could do better. I wanted to redeem myself, and I feel great about how I played.” Indeed, time and again, Charlie Woods has proven himself and his golfing skills.
