The story of Jane Park and her child Grace is well known throughout the golfing community. It is a tale of love, care, and sheer determination where they fought for their baby who was diagnosed with an illness. She had stepped away from being a golfer to take care of her child in 2021.
Now, two years after the child suffered the episode which resulted in Park taking the break, the LPGA member has returned to golf. She is taking part in the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational hosted by LPGA in Michigan. In an interview with the golfer and her husband, the family shared the story of the unexpected support she received which has left the golfing community swamped with emotions.

As Jane and Pete Godfrey, her husband, shared the story of their daughter Grace, they made sure to mention the help they received from the LPGA. The healing return that the family had to the LPGA became a testament for them to showcase the struggles they went through with the golfing community backing them up.

In the interview, they went on to mention Tiffany Joh who started a charity fund to help save Grace. This helped the family a lot as the donations helped support the family in bringing back their daughter from the hospital and getting adjusted without worrying about money. “The support that we’ve received, it’s a testament to the kind of people that are out here.” continued the golfer while reminiscing about their struggles. With the growing expense of health and childcare, the LPGA family held a charity event where many golfers attended to help support their cause.
The American pro golfer went on to say, “It means the world and I hope that we can continue to be included in the LPGA because it’s been such a huge part of our lives,” while showing her gratitude for the whole LPGA community. Moreover, in the ongoing LPGA event in Michigan, a hat with Grace’s name on it has been made available. The proceeds made will be donated to the Epilepsy Foundation and Golf4Her Foundation, which are charities that treat similar diseases.

The battle for Grace’s health
Grace’s health took a drastic turn in 2021 after the Volunteers of America Classic. In the event held in Texas, Park had missed the cut after which, the golfer and her daughter were playing in the hotel room. She became ill the same day and was rushed to the ER due to seizures. After a series of tests, the doctors discovered the swelling in her brain. The seizures would then cause the child to be disabled and in need of help her whole life.
The two long years changed their lives as they learned to adapt to their daughter’s needs. Park took up this chance to advocate for people with similar disabilities. Moreover, with the hats, the golfer along with the LPGA has extended their hands to such people.

Looking back at it, Jane Park would probably think that none of this would have been possible without the help from the LPGA family.
