“Being able to entertain the fans is what we’re all here to do.” – disclosed Bryson DeChambeau after the third round at the recently ended PGA Championship. He said so while highlighting the need to keep the fans ‘entertained’. And keep them entertained he did as he reciprocated them cheering his name from start to finish with an amazing display of golf. But to keep oneself amused and having fun while playing the game is something that is hard to do. Even the ‘Scientist’ would agree!
The 30-year-old was spotted in an interview post the final round at the Valhalla Golf Course. During the same, DeChambeau was queried on whether he was entertained by himself and the game of golf he played to which the athlete was quick to agree all the while admitting how he was “surprised” and “impressed” with himself.

Enjoying oneself while hoping to win a tournament is a difficult thing to do. But Bryson DeChambeau was able to do just that when he said, “Yeah. I shocked myself a couple times… Putted fantastic,” while alluding to the flawless round of 7-under 64 he dished out on Sunday. He also made sure to hint at the seven birdies and par-putts he made while admitting, ” I don’t feel like I missed one big-moment putt out there.”
Although there were slight mishaps, he was able to get back on his feet soon after. The LIV Golf Pro acknowledged the same when he said, “There’s obviously a couple misses, but every time I needed to get up-and-down I got up-and-down, and every time I needed to make a 6-, 7-footer I did. So definitely surprised myself, impressed myself and I know I can do it again.” He could only manage an awkward tee on the par-5, 18th (Photo Finish) despite the pro needing a birdie on it to tie the score. However, he was able to use a 4-iron to deliver the ball near the greens and chip it into 10 feet. The resulting putt carded him a birdie.
This was but an instance of Bryson DeChambeau proving himself whenever it was required. That’s not all. During the par-4, 16th (Homestretch), he teed his spheroid deep into the woods, which then went ahead to pinball among them, and landed 221 yards from the pin in the fairway. Using an 8-iron, he shot the ball just a few feet away from the hole, allowing him another birdie. The ‘Scientist’ truly did deliver whenever he was in need of it!

The golfer did turn many heads in the community with his performance. Many were even supporting the DeChambeau instead of Xander Schauffele while hoping for the former to emerge victorious at the major tournament.

Over the four days of play, the LIV Golf Pro managed to card a total of 19 birdies, seven of which came during a flawless final round. He was also able to score two eagles, one on the par-5 7th (Genuine Risk) on Thursday and the other on the par-5 18th (Photo Finish) on Saturday, along with three bogeys thereby registering a total of 20-under 264.
He sure did fall just a little bit short of a second major win. But that didn’t discourage the athlete one bit as he soon came forward and expressed his determination, “It’s just going to take some time. Got to figure some stuff out.” Bryson DeChambeau’s fans would surely want that!
