Tiger Woods is one of the greatest golfers who has ever set foot on the course. His journey right from the start has been nothing less than magnificent, and inspiring for the fans, and his fellow golfers as well. He has so many accolades to his name and is indeed a treasure to the sport. Though his journey has had some roadblocks on the way, the golfer has persisted through. 

Woods’ 2019 Masters victory still remains one of his greatest wins ever, and it was a comeback that every fan of the sport was longing for. Fans love him immensely and refer to him as a GOAT! Recently, a discussion pertaining to the same sparked amongst the fans, and fans hoped to see Woods Jr. carry forward his father’s legacy. 

The magic Tiger Woods used to create on the course 

Ever since the near-fatal accident of the golfer in 2021, his professional life just hasn’t been the same. The golfer returned to the course in 2023 at Augusta but unfortunately had to withdraw midway through because of severe pain in his ankle. He then was under the knife yet again for an ankle surgery to help his pain in April. Ever since the withdrawal, fans have not seen him on the course, and it is disheartening for them. 

Fans community on Reddit started a discussion under the title, “Golf is not the same without Tiger Woods,” wherein they just discussed the magic that the golf great used to create on the course and how the PGA Tour and the sport is “not the same” in his absence. A fan, whose post drew mutiple comments, shared that they have been watching Woods’ Chasing 82 playlist on YouTube and “it’s magical.”

The fan praised the golfer and said that he used to make crowds roar, and his dominance and charisma on the course was just something else. Seeing the 5X Masters champ’s magical recovery shots and seeing him dominate the field gave the fan chills. The fan said that they no longer find golf “exciting.” Praising the legend, the fan wrote, “Tiger Woods grew the game so much, and served as a role model for so many people.”

The 15X major champion is still part of the Tour but in a white-collar role as the sixth player director of the policy board. The decision came weeks after the PGA Tour announced its merger with the Saudi league. Though the fans were disappointed by the decision, they are still longing to see Woods’ triumphant return to the course.

The fan ended his heartfelt confession for the golf great by saying that he wishes that Charlie Woods carries on his father’s legacy and becomes a pro on the Tour. With Junior Woods performing exceptionally well in his tournaments, it is right for fans to hope that he would fill his father’s shoes one day. The discussion amongst the Woods’ fans continued in the comment section and they shared a lot of good words for the golfer.

A fan recalled the hilarious incident from his church visit, and commented, “I live in Nowhere Southern Kentucky. I can remember church officially starting early and getting out early if Tiger was playing. Think about that for a minute… Some podunk town full of a bunch of Baptists moved their entire church sermons around for a guy nobody knew to watch him play golf. That’s what the Tiger phenomenon was. It was profound.”

Appreciating his underrated shots, one fan wrote, “His athleticism was cool…..i think what’s really underrated bc of all his other shots was his clutch putting. His putting was just so phenomenal in his heyday.”

Discussing Woods’ distinct style and zest, a comment said, “Tiger was the only golfer out there chasing the limits of possibility. Every other golfer is content to get by and win sometimes. Tiger played to win every single time he played and fans could feel the difference.”

Pointing out his contribution to the sport, one enthusiast wrote, “Every golfer on the pro tour owes part of their income to Tiger and the attention he brought to the game. Yes, I miss the man, #MustwatchTV.”
