Anne van Dam has started off well at the Mallorca Ladies Golf Open. A massive leap in the second round saw her go six-under-par at No. 2, behind Kristyna Napoleaova. Van Dam, however, is about a lot more than her exploits on the golf course.
The 28-year-old likes playing different sports and cycling is one of her favorites. And by her own admission, she has been cycling a lot in Mallorca, when she is not playing golf. Van Dam enjoyed speaking about it.

“Probably cycled around already like 300 kilometres last couple of days. Mallorca is just… I don’t even have words for it. Probably when I start talking about cycling, I lied off, not as much if I talk about golf,” van Dam said in her interview, as posted on the Ladies European Tour’s X handle.
The Dutch golfer has vowed to cycle when under par. “Mallorca is just fantastic and I have been coming here quite a few times now. It’s definitely one of the things I love to do in my free time. Mallorca is amazing for cycling. I have promised myself, if I play under-par, I can cycle after my round,” van Dam added during the light-hearted conversation.

Anne has seven professional wins in her career so far. She is also one of the longest hitters in women’s golf. But beyond her stellar swing and big drives, van Dam is a fitness freak. In fact, she even has a fitness series on Instagram.

What’s more, back in December 2022, Anne van Dam ran the Ironman 70.3 in California. It had a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride and 13.1 mile run. She finished the race in six hours and eight minutes. Through the Ironman race, the golfer also helped raise over $15,000 for Grace Park. Two-year-old Grace, who is the daughter of van Dam’s fellow golfer Jane Park, suffers with undiagnosed epilepsy. Running the Ironman shows the high fitness levels of Anne van Dam.
Van Dam’s fitness obsession
Van Dam joined hands with golf performance coach Liesbeth Pauwels for a recent training session and shared her fitness goals and challenges. “Fitness is obviously a very big part of my life. I do many other sports and have a lot of interest in them. I get a lot of questions on Instagram asking to post some more workouts,” she was quoted as saying by GolfChic.

The Ladies European Tour winner elaborated on starting a fitness series. “I thought, how can I make something fun out of that? So I’m now doing a different workout every Wednesday with a different trainer and a fun workout to inspire people – especially young girls – to do more fitness.” Little wonder that Anne van Dam has a sumptuous fan-following.
