Charley Hull is among the biggest names at the Solheim Cup this season. A Solheim veteran of five editions, this year is proving to be disastrous for her, mind you by her high standards. She sat out the morning session on Saturday due to an injury and fans who were desperate to see her in action were left disappointed.
For uncertain reasons, her captain Suzann Pettersen denied Hull having an injury yesterday. However, Charley chose honesty and admitted to the media that she was suffering from neck problems and also revealed the cause for it.

Charley Hull has been suffering from a sprained neck. It came to ruin her game at the crucial moment of the Solheim Cup. And though captain Pettersen denied Hull having an injury, the player replied in the affirmative.
In a separate interview, Hull is making a rather contrasting confession. She admitted she was indeed injured. Charley Hull told Golf Channel’s Amy Rogers that she is suffering from neck pain. She revealed the cause too. “I actually picked up my tour bag last week and that kind of started it. And then I’ve done it from sleeping as well on the plane over here.”
She was paired with Emily Pedersen in the Friday foursomes but they came a cropper. On Saturday afternoon she won her four-ball game with Leona Maguire though. Who knows what may have happened if her injury wasn’t bothering her?!

Hulls adds, “It’s been pretty sore, I’m not gonna lie. I’ve kind of had to change my swing a little bit to kind of turn through it.” She is about to face Danielle Kang in the singles match on Sunday.

Charley Hull is brave, one must say!
Earlier this week on Wednesday, she told Sky Sports that her neck is swollen. When the interviewer asked Hull if she was able to swing at 100%, she said she was able to swing and play at her 80% capacity. “Swinging at like 80 percent as it hurts some of my tilts on the way down, but I’m hitting it good, considering [everything].” On Wednesday she only practiced nine holes. And her caddie was also sick. She revealed, “My caddie is not on the fit side, but get a few beers down him every night and he will be fine!”
Expectations are high from Hull who wishes to take Europe to a three-peat, with them having also won in 2019 and 2021. Will she be able to bounce back at the Solheim Cup against Danielle Kang? Stay tuned to find out.
