Is John Daly's response to Hurricane Helene a testament to his character beyond the golf course?

The Category 4 hurricane that swept away many homes with its wrath caught John Daly’s family home in Clearwater, Florida, and a few of his friends’ houses too. The 2-time major winner was utterly devastated by the damage Hurricane Helene had caused to his family and all those affected by it. Daly told the PGA Tour that he knew Florida usually had inclement weather and hurricane warnings, but he didn’t expect it how turn out this bad.

While playing the Constellation Furyk & Friends in Jacksonville in early October, the 58-year-old wished for everyone’s safety and said, “I hope everyone gets safe and gets their homes back. My heart just goes out to everybody.” Now that Helene is over, and Hurricane Milton has also started to slow down, Daly will also be playing in another event.

The 5-time PGA Tour winner shared a post on his Instagram story and revealed his next start for the month. Daly will play in his home state, Arkansas, on October 28th and 29th. Instead of a PGA Tour Champions tournament, the 58-year-old will be organizing a charity event called Daly and Duke Driver For Charity with Ken Duke, who is another PGA Tour Champions’ golfer.
