With two major wins under her belt, Stacy Lewis has had a decorated career on the women’s golf circuit. And at the age of 38, she is the youngest captain of the USA team for the Solheim Cup. But the question arises – Is she a fitting captain to lead her country in the most prestigious women’s golf tournament?
Last time out, the Americans had to let go of the Solheim Cup title to the Europeans under the captaincy of Pat Hurst. Now, this year, will the Americans reach victory through the new captain’s leadership, or will it be a disappointment again? Stacy Lewis represented the USA in the Solheim Cup in the years 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017. These add up to her immense experience at the biennial event. In 2019, she also served as an assistant captain. Now, recently a source revealed, she has been chosen as the captain of the US team for back-to-back two years, 2023 and 2024, which means an extension in her tenure.
Last time, Team Europe defeated Team USA by 15 points on American soil, and that is a huge disgrace to have been defeated for the title in their homeland. Now, the question is whether the USA team, which has a record in Solheim Cup history of 10 wins, can return to its glory by sealing a victory this year under Stacy Lewis’ guidance on the Spanish fields.

For the first time in history, the Solheim Cup is taking a step toward switching to even years in 2024. So we get a little bit of a trial run to figure things out.”
She gave out a non-delusional verdict and underscored her intent to try everything to bring the trophy back home. Her approach towards the 2023 Solheim Cup reflects her mindset to secure victory and get hold of the international crown.
