All kinds of things happen in the golf world, but what happened at the Solheim Cup took the cake. The Solheim Cup was already dealing with transportation issues and poor TV coverage, but to add to that, a surprising celebration caught everyone’s attention. Team USA’s Alison Lee made an incredible eagle shot. Her caddie, Taylor “Shota” Takada, and Megan Khang’s caddie, Jack Fulghum, celebrated by removing their shirts in front of thousands of fans. The crowd loved it and cheered on the caddies, however, some people disagreed.

Pro golfer Pablo Larrazabal thought it was “going too far.” Many fans agreed, calling it “weird” and “out of place.” However, others like Max Homa and Michelle Wie West supported the moment. There’s a backstory to this celebration that the caddies had agreed to before the competition. The bet was that if someone made a great shot, they would take off their shirts, and that was pretty much it. Recently, Nelly Korda talked about her experience at the 2024 Solheim Cup at the Kroger Queen City Championship press conference. When asked about memorable moments from the Solheim Cup, Korda couldn’t stop talking about the friendships she formed during the tournament.

She mentioned that she already knew Alison Lee and Megan Khang pretty well, as well as Lilia, but had formed new connections with other team members. “All the other girls, like Sarah, I didn’t know at all,” Korda said. “Obviously, with Rose being younger, we grew closer. I also grew closer to LC and all the girls in general.” Korda said that the best part of the week was getting to know all the other girls on the team. “Getting to know them a little better was kind of the best part of the week.” She noted that everyone was relaxed and having a great time representing their country. “We were just vibing off each other, keeping it light out there, and having so much fun.” And they sure had so much fun.

Recently, Korda was seen celebrating Team USA’s Solheim Cup win on Instagram while cheekily thanking Team Europe’s Charley Hull for a humbling experience.

Nelly Korda’s message to Charley Hull

Nelly Korda is still on cloud nine after the Solheim Cup, and her latest Instagram post shows she’s welcoming her latest victory with open arms. Despite suffering a crushing loss at the hands of Charley Hull in Round 1, Korda expressed happiness about representing her country and taking home the trophy.

“LETS GO!! What an incredible week with the most amazing group of people. It was an honor to represent my country alongside these girls just outside our nation’s capital! Thank you to all the volunteers and fans for cheering us on LOUD and clear ! USA!!! “ Korda wrote in her latest Instagram post. Korda added, “Thank you for the humbling a$$ whoopin @charley.hull ;)”.

Charley Hull also reflected on the tournament on Instagram praising her team and Korda for their win. “Played our hearts out this week… Always fun playing with @nellykorda” to which Korda responded with a playful comment, “We’ll call it 1-1 this week lol thanks for the ‘smokin'”. Hull also took time to thank Europe’s Team Captain Suzann Pettersen and said, “Thank you @suzannpettersen for being a great captain.”
