PGA Tour's loss is another sport's gain—How do you feel about DeChambeau's new direction?

It is Presidents Cup week and all the golf enthusiasts are probably waiting for the Sunday Singles to decide the 15th edition winner. But for LIV Golf Pros, the weekend would be different. As the PGA Tour sanctions the Presidents Cup, unlike the Ryder Cup, the top stars from the breakaway circuit didn’t make it to Team USA. That’s why most golfers would be relaxing in their homes or vacationing, but for Bryson DeChambeau, the weekend is reserved for something else.

Even after winning the US Open this year, DeChambeau faced the disappointment of missing the Presidents Cup because of his league. But he isn’t delving into it being upset, but he has turned his attention to another sport. The 2-time US Open winner was spotted at the SMU Mustangs vs Florida State Seminoles football game at the Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas, Texas The Southern Methodist University alum was hyped up as he supported his team.

The SMU football team posted a video of DeChambeau at the stadium on their Instagram. The LIV Golf pro sent a message to the team and the fans. He excitedly introduced himself and said, “I’m here cheering on the ponies. We are going up against Florida State. It is going to be a big game, we gotta win. Let’s go! Pony up!”

It was the first time DeChambeau faced the public after the LIV Golf Team Championship concluded in Dallas and, despite leading the team standings for the entire year, his team, Crushers GC, did not lift the trophy like last year. Nonetheless, the 31-year-old was over that. Now that he’s on a break, there’s one more thing fans are excited about. Any guesses? It’s his new look!

Bryson DeChambeau gains compliments from the golf world

Being a student of Southern Methodist University and starting his amateur golf career there, Bryson DeChambeau was expectedly passionate about the SMU vs FSU game. And his team even took the lead in the third quarter with a 21-9 scoreline. It looks like the SMU Mustangs would win their games with dominance, but this fan didn’t agree with DeChambeau as they said,Should be a walk in the park. FSU can’t seem to beat a pee-wee team.” However, not everyone was of the opinion that SMU was a weak team. Many believed that they would overpower the Florida State Seminoles and they looking to do so. As this user excitedly commented, “BIG TIME” kind of in agreement with the 2-time US Open winner.

DeChambeau’s popularity rose to another level after his dramatic and entertaining victory at Pinehurst No. 2. Notably, the 2-time major winner was engaging with all the fans and he even let his fans touch the trophy after winning it for the second time or casually carried around downtown Nashville. Since then, the 31-year-old has become the fan-favorite golfer for connecting with fans on a different level and that carries into LIV Golf events as well. So, this fan took it as an opportunity to appreciate DeChambeau and said,Thanks for the fist bump at LIV! Your the crowd favorite and thank you for actually interacting with your fans!”

DeChambeau surely hopes that SMU Mustangs come out victorious in Dallas over the Seminoles and although not the Presidents Cup, but he would have another thing to celebrate.
