At a press conference after his play at the Trump National Doral, DeChambeau answered some questions directed at him by the press. The player mentioned how his individual game was this season and also spoke about his team’s matchplay.

Asked if the Pro had any particular player in mind that he wanted to have on his team and how he went about with the process, the golfer answered that his main aim while deciding the team was to opt for veteran players that he could depend upon. He added that while selecting, it was vital to keep in mind to choose players that would “show up day in and day out.”

“…What’s funny is all three of these wanted to be on my team, and I couldn’t have picked a better group of guys to be with. Because one, they are wiser than me, so I wanted to gain more knowledge, what they had,” the golfer said.

The golfer concluded by saying that his team is dedicated to the draft and getting better every day, and as per DeChambeau, “…that’s what you need in the team format and team competition, and that’s what you need at LIV to win and we proved that today.
