Twitter is not the best app to be on while drunk, and one LIV Golf pro learned the lesson the hard way. On Sunday, an inebriated Richard Bland engaged in a war of words with the DP World Tour’s Eddie Pepperell over Chase Koepka’s thrilling hole-in-one during LIV Adelaide.

Koepka had earlier bagged an ace at the Party Hole at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, inciting overwhelming reactions from spectators. The fight took off after Pepperell replied to a tweet about the stadium-like par 3 12th hole, saying he wasn’t sure how much LIV was really “changing” things. Bland then came to the defense of the Saudi-backed league, leading to an ugly online spat.

As Chase Koepka’s hole-in-one shot took over the internet, pro-golfer Eddie Pepperell weighed in as well. Responding to a tweet by a podcast host, the 32-year-old hinted that the party atmosphere could also be seen at Scottsdale. For the uninitiated, TPC Scottsdale is the home of the WM Phoenix Open.

Pepperell’s comments did not go down well with LIV golfer Richard Bland, who insinuated that there were no such holes at the DP World Tour. The intoxicated golfer even aimed a jibe at Pepperell, at which point the to-and-fro took a mean-spirited turn.

On Monday, however, the 50-year-old golfer apologized for his comments. Bland revealed that he was intoxicated during the exchange, saying that he should have known “better.

Earlier, the Twitter banter had turned ugly when Bland made a “15 minutes on Tour” comment about the DP World Tour golfer. The latter also reciprocated by taking a dig at the LIV player.

While drunk, Richard Bland refused to see past Pepperell’s comments regarding the party hole at LIV Adelaide. He shot back, saying he hadn’t seen any in his 22 years with the DP World Tour. He even implied that Pepperell didn’t know much, saying, “But maybe your 15 minutes on tour you know different.

Refusing to let Bland’s tweet slide, the Oxford native shot back, saying that he had achieved way more in his shorter career than the LIV pro ever accomplished in over two decades.

However, it seems like Pepperell isn’t the type to harbor hard feelings. After Bland’s apology, he let things come to a peaceful end, joking that the LIV golfer had left himself open during the whole fiasco.
