American golf talent Nelly Korda is among the players to watch with incredible skills. She has been turning heads since she turned pro on the LPGA Tour, following in the footsteps of her older sister Jessica Korda. Coming from a family of athletes, her competitive side has been honed for ages.

Although Korda has been missing in action at the Freed Group Women’s Scottish Open 2023, her fans are eager to learn whether or not the rising star of the LPGA Tour will play at the AIG Women’s Open next week starting on the 10th of August. Let’s find out, shall we?

Is Nelly Korda playing at the 2023 AIG Women’s Open?

The younger Korda sister has many accomplishments to her name. Aside from winning the iconic Olympic Gold Medal, she has also acquired 8 titles on the PGA Tour including a Major. She also battled stormy weather to put her best foot forward and claim the individual title at the Aramco team Series. Not to mention, she splendidly made it to the top 10 of at least seven events this season, including second and third finishes at the HSBC Women’s World Championship and the Chevron Championship respectively.

The recently-turned 25-year-old golf pro is on the AIG Women’s Open Field roster for more than one accomplishment. Even though she finished 41st at Muirfield last year, she ranks in the top 10 of the Race to CME Globe Season. The top 120 players qualify for the Major next week.

She is also among the top 50 players in the 2023 Rolex Ranking list. In fact, she is ranking as number 1 currently and she was a playing member of the 2021 Solheim Cup. Not to mention, she won the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in 2021. She not only earned her exemption into the fifth women’s Major Tournament this season but etched her name in golfing leaderboards since her maiden win.

Can Nelly Korda handle the stress after her surgery?

Last year, at Muirfield Korda secured the 41st position at the prestigious event. That was soon after her surgery to remove a blood clot from her left arm. Although her performance wasn’t the finest since then, she has not allowed herself to slip up.

She may have missed the cut at a couple of events this season and slid to T50 and below in two events. However, her winning resolve helped her maintain her ranking among the top 10 at seven tournaments on the LPGA schedule. She also claimed the Aramco Team Series’s individual title.

All in all, it appears that Nelly Korda is pushing herself to keep her performance to the best of her abilities. The Major event will definitely witness some stress on the field but Korda’s winning smile and her can-do attitude will surely help her through it.
