Good fashion is a virtue. Jason Day will agree to this, especially after what he faced at this year’s Masters Tournament and the Open Championship for his dressing choices. The Malbon partnership has not been proving great for the Aussie golfer. At least the fans would agree upon that.
However, it seems like the 36-year-old’s poor fashion choices are a thing of the past as with the Paris Olympics around the corner Jason Day has shared a video reel on his official Instagram account in which he looks excited about the shoes he received from Payntr Golf for the men’s golf event in the Olympics, scheduled from August 1 to 4. Day has got the chance to represent his country, Australia, in Paris. Now it’s time for him to avenge his 2020 Olympic embarrassment!
In the video, Day showcased his two pairs of shoes. One was white, with a green sideway sole, having a yellow outline. The shoes had yellow laces and their soles started with yellow at the toe side and translated into green towards the heel. The second pair was a dark green pair with the same colored sole and laces as the first pair, however, the white color was gracing the sideway sole. The caption said, “Getting ready for @olympicgolf and just received this package from my mates at @payntrgolf 👀 Unbelievable design and attention to detail! Cannot wait to represent Australia in Paris”

Initially, the Aussie golfer was hesitant to partner with Payntr Golf, but one meeting with the shoe brand’s president and co-founder, Mike Forsey, during the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am changed his stance. His pitch there intrigued him and his and his team’s visit to Day’s home in Ohio sealed the deal when they explained every minute detail of the shoes. This deal has proved great for him. One user, in the comment section of the Instagram post, said“Good stuff!” Another one praised those and he could not contain himself as they yearned for the shoes: “Siiiick!!! @payntrgolf any plans to release this model?“
Jason Day is one of the best golfers in the world. He has been crowned a total of thirteen times at the PGA Tour and one of these times was in a major. That major was the 2015 PGA Championship. Moreover, he has a whopping 16 top-10 finishes in the PGA Tour events. But the biggest feat of his career is, perhaps, being the world’s best golfer for a little over a year in 2015-16. Alluding to his career achievements, a user said, “Legend.”
The last tournament that Jason Day participated in was the Open Championship. Even in the video, he could be heard saying that he just came back from it. Although he could not claim the Claret Jug, his performance was not bad at all, especially when golfers like Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau missed the cut. Day finished at T13 with a score of 1 over 285. Pointing to his performance at the Royal Troon and wishing luck for what’s more to come, a user said, “Hey Jason congratulations on your play in the open. I hope your tournament goes well this year.”

Jason Day has not played in any Australian events since 2017. That was the last time when he professionally swung his clubs in Australia. Even the 2017 appearance came after four years. Congratulating him for his future events and pointing to his negligible appearance at Australian events, a user presented his view: “Always been a massive fan of JD and wish him all the very best at the Olympics and his future tournaments . But being a Aussie myself I do wish he would do more for Australian golf.“
From getting ridiculed for his fashion sense at the Masters to garnering praise for it, Jason Day is all set to represent his country at the Paris Olympics. Do you think he will be able to make the Australians proud?
