After days of hard work, finally, Patrick Reed was a winner again! It took the 2018 Masters winner nearly four years to get the winner’s title as his last victory was at the 2018 Farmers Insurance Open. After this, he changed the league in 2022 and more often than not was inside the top 10 but never the one to lift the trophy. But at the LINK Hong Kong Open, things changed.
On Saturday of the event, Reed posted his career’s best round of 59 and took the clubhouse lead. Coming to the final round at the Hong Kong Golf Club, he shot 12 under 66 and finished 22 under with three strokes of lead over the defending champion, Ben Campbell. The LIV Golf pro took home a check of $360,000 as the winner. So, will Reed take a rest before the 2025 start or play another event?
Fret not, the 1-time major champion will not get off to enjoy his off-season just yet. After the 10th career win in Hong Kong, Reed will be in Doha, Qatar for the penultimate event of the International series at the Doha Golf Club, as LIV Golf reported. The event will start on November 27th and end on the 30th. With his current form, Reed might be able to bag back-to-back victories on the Asian Tour.

After a long time, he has finally found his form and he would not want it to go haywire so easily. But why Reed is playing on the Asian Tour, despite the LIV Golf season ending and most of its golfers enjoying it to the fullest?

It’s like Patrick Reed fulfilling his years-old dream
The victory at the Hong Kong Golf Club was one of the most fulfilling ones for the Masters’ champion, as he felt frustrated after missing out on wins at the LIV Golf events and the majors as he just could not get to the double digits for his career wins. But after winning the LINK Hong Kong Open, Patrick Reed said, “That was huge… it feels great to come out and feel like the game was where it needed to be, and finally get to the 10th win. It felt like it was a long time overdue.”
So, to continue this streak of luck on the Asian Tour, Reed is probably teeing up at the International Series Qatar and maybe he chose it because the field is diluted as well. One might think that. But Reed always wanted to play on the Asian Tour and see the talent on it. However, he could never do that because of the PGA Tour schedule. So, he was grateful to get the chance after joining the league.

So that no one remarks the field as weak, Reed added, “The talent and the strength of the field out here is just as good, even though the world rankings and that flawed system would say otherwise.” You get it, for Patrick Reed, it is like finally completing his goal of playing on the Asian Tour without any constraints and winning it too. So, why wouldn’t he play more events when his chances of winning just got up?
