Zach Johnson snubbed the 31-year-old LIV Golf Andalucia winner by not selecting him to compete in the Ryder Cup. Certainly, the presence of Talor Gooch on the team would have provided an added advantage, as he is currently in excellent form and familiar with European courses and weather conditions.

While many may have assumed the cold shoulder from the American team captain was where his woes ended, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Gooch’s miseries seem to be never-ending, as he has hilariously ended up with the same fate, but this time from a close friend!

Gooch, like many golfers, has an active presence on social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram. And as per his Instagram bio, the golfer shares a deep love for not just the sport but three other things: his family, his friends, and dogs!

Recently, on his Instagram story, the dog-loving golfer was seen enjoying some good Mexican food alongside his furry husky friend. The dog rested his face on the table, looking as if he were longing for a bite of the food. However, he did not get his desired share of the grub.

Upon not getting a bite of the food, disappointed, he howled and then subsequently turned around, appearing almost agitated, and faced away from Gooch. “This is known as ‘giving the cold shoulder,” wrote Gooch in the video, hilariously referring to the canine shrugging him off.

While this humorous incident flaunts Gooch’s bond with his dog, it also perhaps adds to the rejection he’s faced recently. However, not all is going badly in the LIV star’s life. After all, despite not getting a shot to play at the Ryder Cup this year, he has now earned himself a chance to play at another prestigious event on the DP World Tour!

Things seem to be looking good for the LIV golfer since he has now been granted a special invitation to participate in this year’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. This is a positive development for both Gooch and LIV as a whole since it shows that the DP World Tour temporarily lifted its ban for the Saudi Tour players.

Talor Gooch falls under the invitational category due to his non-membership in the DP World Tour, and hence was a no-brainer as a pick for the event. His inclusion was made possible by Johann Rupert, Chairman of Compagnie Financiere Richemont, which sponsors the tournament through the Dunhill brand.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the future status of LIV golfers, Gooch’s involvement in this prestigious event showcases the evolving dynamics in professional golf and an increasing acceptance of the defectors. Perhaps all will be well in the end!
